Emily's 2010 Speaking Engagements:

• Can You Really Make A Basket Out Of That? - "Emily Dvorin definitely stretches your ideas on what you can use to create baskets. She creates vessels using ordinary materials such as pencils, straws, cloths pins and zip ties and uses traditional techniques. People are drawn to her work because of its color and playfulness and are then intrigued by the materials."
  
  Monday, January 18th, 2010, 7pm. Francis Young Gallery at the Marin Art and Garden Center, Ross. Guests and new members are welcome. Lecture will be followed by a workshop on Saturday, January 23rd for members of the Tamalpais Weavers Guild only.
  
  
• Sculptural Basketry as Contemporary Fiber Art - Emily spoke during "Art Forum Day", at the opening of the Fiberart International 2010 Exhibition about her work in the context of trends in contemporary fiber art.
